Happy Birthday Nisha!!!!!
Nisha you just officially experienced your first fever of near 103 F
Nisha,
A quick smile, short commercial, intro to your favorite song, time you talk on the phone or the time it takes you to eat one hamburger, waiting in line at the grocery store or just a time to give a nice hug.
- 30 seconds -
A short time ???
.........
..........
or
................. a long time?
Today, we experienced a still 30 seconds.
Rose and I were eating breakfast while Nisha trying to stand up with a teether biscuit in her mouth.
We were chatting away about a cute mix baby girl I saw at Au Bon Pain a baker near by our place.
Then Nisha slowly stood up as usual and I was about to clap my hands, but Rose stopped me.... something different?
5 sec...... 10 sec.....
Nisha is wobbling back and forth as if she's standing on a surf board.....
15 sec... 20 sec...... wow... she's still going....
She's even smiling and giving us gestures that made us thought.... is she showing off???
25 sec.... in silent amazement.....
30 sec.... we couldn't take it and Rose runs to get our camera and.....
she collapsed to the floor.
Soon after she would challenge again but not with the same results.
But today again we felt how quickly Nisha is growing.
Congratulations on your first stand, we're very happy to experience that with you!!!
It's really my sixth year here in Thailand and this is one of my favorites time here.
I remember the first time I've ever experienced Songkran. Still living right across from Wat Suthat. Which is the temple with the Giant Swing in the old downtown of Bangkok. We lived about 15 min walking distance from Kao Sarn Road where every year both tourist and local Thais get a chance to express every bit of happiness you have inside you.
You really become the kid you really are. Kind of spiritual at the same time natural.
It's a time where it doesn't matter what color, age, sex, religion and the list will cover nearly everything.
AND Nisha it's your first year!!!!
Happy Songkran Nisha!!!!!!
I hope today will be a fun day for you and day to connect to your future one day.
That you are part of this culture who takes a day to appreciate what you have.
But this year Nisha, I feel like many things have changed for me. And the best thing is that you have reminded me of how fun life can be. Thank you.
There is much that happened this past month.
You will see some on Rose's blog with some pictures..... don't worry... I'll get some pictures up soon.
Pra Seigo has entered monk hood as well. I hope he goes through this to realize that the world surrounding us is a lot bigger than he thinks from the mind.
This takes me to the next thought for you.
A thought is a thought..... by Carlos
Your uncle Carlos would always used to say that which is true. And this thought can help you grow or make you small, whichever you let this thought take you.
When this thought speaks to you. You're lucky to have that chance to ask this thought and challenge this thought with your soul. Then you can make the decision of what is best for you. Don't let the mind think of how you feel. Let the mind test yourself and help grow your soul bigger than sky.
.................btw....if you have a younger brother his name is sky in Japanese... Sora.....
So, Rose and I are working hard right now.... more than ever.... and we seem to enjoy it.
I will keep you updated as much as possible.....don't worry..... haven't forgotten you.
Also..... you are 8 month old now and you can stand up when you lean against something. But not yet on your own. I will mark the day your can stand up on your own and walk. We enjoy watching you grow everyday!
Thank you again and wishing for big heart to reach out the world.
With love lasting till the day you finish counting all the stars in this universe.
So there was a long blank.... sorry Nisha ><
Papy has been busy and I will begin to write again.
Right now Nishapat aka Grace is with us again. Nisha and Grace are only a week apart from each other and we're always amazed by how different the two are.
Nisha is growing healthy with teeth beginning to fill her mouth and body full of baby fat that is like a piece of ham ready to be smoked.
Grace on the other-hand is much lighter. When you lift her up after carrying Nisha, she really feels like feather. But her strength seems to be her mobility. She can get up on her knees and crawl a good distance already and yesterday was able to stand up on her own with her hands supported on my legs.
Nisha typically doesn't drink... or to put it more accurately she doesn't like to drink out of bottles unless she is forced to. She will fuss and fuss until she knows that she must drink out of the bottle. So no need to say that she doesn't have an interest in bottles...... that is until Grace arrived.
Grace was drinking her milk out of the bottle as usual and Nisha was playing with her toys. As Nisha sees Grace drinking out of the bottle... she crawls over to Grace and begins to play with her bottle. So we give a bottle with water to Nisha and what do you know.... she begins to suck on it.
Last night, they were both not quite in the sleep mode. So after awhile, they're awake making all kinds of sounds and movements. So I take them into the bedroom, dim the light and let them play. Nisha on her routine finding things to put into her mouth, she begins to play with a plastic bag with her diapers. For a long while Grace will be just looking until she too feels like she wants to play and crawls over to Nisha. But Nisha not letting go over her plastic bag, Grace reaches out for the mosquito net and begins to play with it.
But after a short while Nisha is bored and gives her cry for Rose. I take Nisha to Rose and come back to Grace to see she's trying to play with the plastic bag.
It's nice to see both of them growing and learning from each other. Nisha can now get up to her knees and almost begin to crawl. Grace can successfully grab at things now. I wish for both of them to keep on growing and learning their strengths from each other.
Happy Chinese New Year 2008!
Nisha had her first plane ride.
Two and a half hour going to Singapore didn't sound like a bad idea for her first ride. So after weeks of discussion and some research, Rose and I had finally decided to take Nisha on a plane.
We were hoping to make things smooth as possible, but right from the beginning we were already running to the gate where the airline staff had the sign for last call. As we sat down in our seats, the stewardess saw that we had Nisha and she kindly helped us stow our luggage as we tried to see which position would be most comfortable to feed her in case Nisha cried.
As we expected, once we sat down in our seats Nisha began to give her duck cry.... it a cough that she makes, " ahe, ahe.... ahe, ahe..... ahe. aha...." when she wants to drink milk from Rose.
So she drinks her milk and as the plane drove into position for take off, she gradually fell into sleep.
The plane begins to accelerate and Rose gets into position by taking off Nisha's mouth and we're ready to fly!
.... from that point on it was smoother than Chok Chai's milk.....
Waking up from a good nap, she wasn't fussy at all but rather in a playful mood throwing smiles and playing with the stewardess on board.
Congratulations Nisha on your first plane trip!
With a quick rain storm that just passed through Bangkok.....
